Rally in Tally Update!

Dear Colleagues,
FNPN would like to network more closely during the legislative session with the local groups as we press forward in our quest in the legislature. I hope you have all seen the social media from Tuesday’s opening of the 2020 Legislative Session. The Rally in Tally was held on Tuesday 1/14/20 for APRN HB 607 with many of your APRN colleagues representing you!(see Facebook and Twitter) . Never before has there been such support for APRN’s We even had an APRN as the NP of the day in the capital clinic for the first time who was recognized in the opening day House session as she sat amongst the representatives! The Speaker of the House, Rep. Jose Oliva mentioned APRN’s numerous times in his opening address. For our longtime champion and supporter, Rep Dr. Pigman, this will be his last term. Along with House Speaker Oliva, he has requested that we remain engaged and visible during the session.
But …the barriers remain strongly in the Senate. We need all Florida APRN’s to work with us now... How can we gain your support?
We need all the local groups to stand with us, show support if not in physical presence then by donating to the FNPN PAC, writing letters, making calls, and helping us get the message out. We need our colleagues traveling to Tally with us every Tuesday and Wednesday in February and March (see FNPN website to sign up and for directions). All APRNs must engage. We cannot do this alone.
Everyone benefits if we all do something to support the House for taking our position and pushing HB 607 for us. This is a professional responsibility to protect the future. We need the bill passed! Start by writing to House Speaker Oliva and Rep Pigman and tell them Thank You! Then contact local legislators, Senator Galvano, President of the Senate, and Governor DeSantis to tell the story of why HB 607 is so vital to citizens of Florida. If you need talking points, they are also located on the FNPN website!
CAN WE COUNT ON YOU TO JOIN US?
